About Beachcroft AP Academy
Beachcroft AP Academy, judged as Good in all areas by Ofsted in June 2013, is a primary and secondary alternative provision academy situated in Westminster.
The academy supports learners who have experienced difficulties with their learning and behaviour in mainstream school. We also support learners with an Education, Health and Care Plan. Learners are educated in small, well-supported groups and follow a broad curriculum of English, Maths, Science, ICT, Humanities, PE, Art, Drama, Life Skills/Citizenship and Food Technology. Learners receive extra support for literacy and numeracy and also work to support the local and international community.
We work closely with secondary and primary schools in the borough to facilitate learners’ return to mainstream education whenever possible.
Learners can gain the equivalent of 8 GCSEs by the end of Year 11. Learners can also attend college placements for a variety of vocational courses. Individual learning plans are created for the learners to achieve to the best of their abilities and the academy rewards progress weekly so that even the smallest of steps are recognised.
Learners take full advantage of the opportunities to widen their experiences in the local and wider area visiting museums and exhibitions and going on trips at the end of term as well as attending special programmes of activities during the holidays. The Beachcroft staff team works closely with parents/carers and outside agencies to make Beachcroft AP Academy a safe and enjoyable place where pupils gain the skills and confidence for success in future life.
