Values and vision
Bridgermary School wants provide all students with a stimulating and nurturing learning environment. It wishes for pupils to adopt a positive attitude around the school and show respect for each other and their surroundings. Manners are important and practiced at all times, while taking pride in work and appearance is also encouraged. The school has five core values: rights, responsibility, respect, relationships and rewards. Bridgemary School has been recognised for its sports and creativity, holding both a Sportsmark and Artsmark Gold. It has also been awarded a Healthy Schools accreditation and an Eco Silver award. It offers a range of extra-curricular clubs for pupils to attend after school and further their interests. These range from language classes to art lessons.
“Teachers know their pupils well and carefully plan lessons to meet their needs. Teachers use accurate and detailed information about pupils’ achievement to provide them with appropriate additional support and challenge, which helps pupils to make good and sometimes better progress. Parents are well informed about their children’s progress and the work of the academy through regular reports, parents’ evenings and comprehensive newsletters. Two parental forums give parents an effective channel to voice their feedback and ideas, for example recent changes to the academy’s homework policy reflect the work of one of these groups”.
