Values and vision
A strong believer in placing high expectations on students, Chiswick School uses the slogan “Let’s make it happen”. Its ability to work in partnership is one of its strengths – it believes that students and parents need to work alongside teachers to give pupils the highest chance of success.
The secondary school aims to support its students in ways that suit their individual needs – socially, emotionally or academically – in order to ensure a well-rounded education. It prides itself on the high quality of its pastoral care: form tutors, a learning co-ordinator and a curriculum support officer work together to make sure students can achieve to their full potential.
“There is a strong ethos, culture and sense of community in the academy. Relationships at all levels are strong and create a calm atmosphere founded on mutual respect. Induction is effective and is complemented by a focused programme of training resulting in good teaching, learning and assessment. The alternative provision at the offsite Chiswick Centre is well managed and has been successful in helping a number of pupils to return to mainstream education.”
