Values and vision
Cliff Park Ormiston Academy wants to provide a high quality education to pupils in the local community and install a ‘can do’ attitude in all that they do. The school has four core values: discover, create, thrive and achieve. It wants to encourage pupils to work to the best of their ability and strive for success. Self-worth is installed into students, and the secondary school wants individuals to leave to the next stage of their education as happy and confident citizens, ready to positively contribute to society and in all that they go on to do. It is important that students learn to respect themselves and others – regardless of their beliefs and differences, and the school instigates cultural awareness through a range of cultural visits and its international links to Africa. Cliff Park Ormiston Academy has been recognised for its creativity and has been awarded an Artsmark Award by Arts Council England. Extra - curricular activities and events are arranged by the school to allow for students’ to discover new interests, hobbies and talents.
“Leaders monitor carefully the quality of teachers’ work so that recommendations for pay awards are given close consideration by leaders and governors. Weaker practice is tackled early and is not allowed to continue. New and less experienced teachers, and learning support assistants, are provided with good guidance and support to develop their skills and improve pupils’ learning”.
