About Sherborne House School
Sherborne House occupies an attractive four acre site within the Hiltingbury area of Chandler’s Ford. Boys and girls between 2 and 11 years of age are admitted through informal assessment. Scholarships in academic subjects, art, sport and music are available as well as bursaries.
We have an enviable reputation for excellent Common Entrance and SATs results and regularly secure scholarships to established senior schools. Our outstanding results are achieved as a result of highly qualified staff, small classes and specialist learning support. Our broad curriculum emphasises literacy, numeracy and science but not at the expense of other subjects.
Our peripatetic lessons offer a wide range of instruments. Art and CDT are taught in a specialist craft facility and all classrooms have interactive whiteboards to support work undertaken in the IT suite. A wide variety of sports is offered, including soccer, rugby, cricket, netball, hockey, short tennis, basketball and volleyball and the school has an extensive fixtures programme. French is offered from Nursery and Spanish is added to the curriculum in the upper school. Sherbourne House also provides a strong Learning Support network for those with special needs and individual programmes are drawn up and delivered by our SENCo in collaboration with the appropriate teaching staff.
We expect children to work and play hard and we take pride in our multi-sensory teaching methods. The pastoral care at Sherborne House is outstanding and the pupils are confident, disciplined, purposeful and happy.
