About Waterhead Academy (Sports Campus)
Waterhead Academy is a co-educational, non-denominational secondary school in Oldham, Greater Manchester. There are 1,290 students aged 11-16 on the school roll.
Waterhead Academy opened in September 2010 as the result of a merger between two predecessor schools, Breeze Hill and Counthill, which were founded in 1960 and 1951 respectively. The academy is sponsored by the Moor End Multi Academies Trust. Its sports campus is located at the site of the former Counthill School.

Waterhead Academy offers a wide range of courses, personal tutorials and enrichment activities through a highly structured, inclusive, innovative approach to learning.
To help achieve its mission, Waterford Academy tries to balance academic work with a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities, and values sporting and cultural achievement equally. A team of dedicated and highly talented professionals are committed to high expectations for all learners. The school governing body is made up of leading local figures and parents, who are working hard to ensure the highest quality education for the Oldham community.
