Waterton Academy Trust, Wakefield’s first primary only academy trust, is looking to employ an experienced Academy Finance Officer from September 2018 to support the CFO whilst overseeing the financial management of a portfolio of academies. The Trust has enjoyed much positive press recently, regarding school improvement in challenging schools and is widely acknowledged as a desirable employer. Our central team is growing, but still maintains a welcoming and friendly environment. 

The successful candidate will work alongside the Trust and academy senior leadership teams with a focus on the preparation and monitoring of individual academy budgets. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong financial and technical experience to support the CFO. We are seeking an exceptional individual who can demonstrate that they possess the skills, passion and determination that this role demands. 

Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate: 

· Experience of budget management and preparation of high quality reports.

· Knowledge of education funding and school budgets.

· Analytical skills with the ability to problem solve creatively. 

· The confidence to work with a wide range of stakeholders.

· A proven track record of service delivery.

· Commitment to the Trust values and ethos.

Previous experience in a similar role is desirable along with outstanding communication and organisational skills.
