An exciting opportunity has arisen for Art specialist to join our expanding Art and Design, Textiles, Technology and Catering department in our successful, vibrant and culturally diverse school.

This post is equally suited to an experienced teacher or an NQT looking for an exciting first position in a supportive school. What matters the most is that you are a talented and innovative practitioner with a passion for Art.

Art Teacher Person Specification
You must be an assertive Art Teacher who is able to show exemplary understanding of the required curriculum. Ideally, the school need an Art Teacher who is able to display a passion for education and teach lively and engaging lessons. The right applicant will have an upbeat and colourful outlook on progressing the creativity of students and an inspirational teaching style that motivates others.

About the Art Teacher Role
In this Art Teacher position, you will be working in the well supported Arts faculty, surrounded by excellent colleagues, teaching a small group of year 12 lessons. Your responsibilities as an Art Teacher will be to ensure that your teaching practice is memorable yet effective with elements of innovative and pioneering techniques to ensure that pupils meet their learning objectives while enjoying the experience.

Art and Design, Textiles, Technology and Catering are successful and popular subjects within the school, attracting consistently high student numbers at KS4 and KS5. These departments are well resourced in a dedicated separate block containing 2 specialist Art classrooms and 5 specialist Design and Technology classrooms. There are 3 technicians who support in lessons as well as managing and preparing resources. Student work is showcased at the end of the year in an Art exhibition, which is open to the public. We are looking for a passionate leader to thrive in our creative environment by leading on annual set design projects and other whole school projects.

The successful candidate will have access to continuous professional development through our dedicated internal and external CPD programme. The school also offers various benefits to all employees through our pro-active staff association team.
