Job overview
20 hours per week
As a Catering Assistant at Hall Cliffe School, you’ll be in the kitchen and front of house, preparing and serving a range of tasty, nutritious food. You’ll be working at the heart of our school, serving staff, our young people and visitors. We’ll expect you to follow food hygiene rules and keep health and safety in mind. But the key is to create varied menus that encourage our young people to try new food. You’ll help plan meals, taking into account any specific dietary requirements.
We’re ideally looking for you to have catering experience gained in a professional setting, but if you are a highly competent home cook who copes well with feeding the masses, we’d still like to hear from you. A Basic Food Hygiene & Safety Certificate would be beneficial as would GCSEs or an equivalent qualification in Catering, for example, an NVQ Level 2. However, to be part of our team, the key ingredient is having the right attitude. If you’re hard working, friendly and dependable, you could be the perfect fit.

Reward

You’ll receive a competitive salary, full school holidays, contributory pension (matched up to 5%) and comprehensive induction and ongoing training, as well as extensive Group staff benefits such as Medicash Health Plan/Employee Assistance, Cycle to Work and tax free childcare vouchers. Witherslack conducts DBS Enhanced checks and covers the costs for all new employees.
