We are seeking an experienced and resourceful teacher and leader either with senior leadership experience or looking to move up from middle leadership into SLT.

Castles Education in Gainsborough was established in September 2022, formed by the amalgamation of two former schools. We provide an education to children with social, emotional and mental health needs from Lincolnshire, South Yorkshire and surrounding areas. We are an independent school but all our places are funded by Local Authorities.

We have started on a process of rapid school improvement and we are looking for someone who will help us to drive this forward as well as leading on a range of operational matters, with overall responsibility for progress and attainment. This includes data recording, data analysis, reporting, target setting and examinations.

We are developing a curriculum which addresses all the needs of our pupils, with three main strands: therapeutic, life skills and academic/vocational. We have a personalised approach to learning, with each student following the curriculum which is best for them and taught in the most appropriate way. We are changing our school culture to embody nurture and trauma-informed practice.

This job is a great opportunity for someone who wants to make their mark and to make a real difference to the school and its pupils.

You will need to have a successful track record of the following:

·       data analysis, using a range of IT systems and Excel

·       experience (preferably) or a good understanding of teaching pupils with SEMH and SEN issues

·       experience (preferably) or a good understanding of trauma informed practice, nurture and restorative practice

·       dealing with challenging situations with pupils and adults

·       managing your time effectively so you can deliver on strategic matters as well as operational demands

·       middle leadership or senior leadership.

You will need to be a qualified teacher. We offer a competitive salary and funding for an NPQSL course. You will be part of an experienced, hard-working and committed senior leadership team which is focused on achieving the best outcomes for our students.

Castles Education are committed to safeguarding and protecting the wellbeing of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share their commitment. An enhanced DBS is required for all successful applicants.
