St Cuthbert’s is an ambitious and progressive school with a relentless commitment to school improvement through high quality teaching, learning and staff and student welfare.  Required for September 2019 is a well qualified and dynamic Assistant Headteacher to lead on Inclusion.  The successful candidate will have a proven track record within the area of Inclusion, able to work as part of a team as well as use their own initiative.  They will be an outstanding classroom practitioner with a drive to improve the life chances of young people through education.  

The role is to lead a large Inclusion Team which includes Heads of Year, Pastoral Officers, Attendance Officers, and Behaviour Support in ensuring all students thrive and succeed at St Cuthbert’s.  

   The successful applicant will:

• Motivate, challenge and inspire all students, even the most difficult to reach in order for them to be successful.

• Be committed to improving the outcomes for all students.

• Have high expectations of themselves, the students and all other staff.

• Have excellent communication skills and the ability to develop and improve practice in others.

• Have demonstrable leadership skills and a clear sense of accountability for areas of school improvement relating to Inclusion.

• Be a good team player who supports and challenges colleagues at all levels appropriately.

• Be able to work independently, take decisions and actions as required.
