Term Time

One post (Year 9) required from September 2018 and one (Year 10) from January 2019.

With experience of working with young people, you have a natural empathy with teenagers. You understand how they think – and you can help to build a strong sense of community within which every student supports each other to live happy and fulfilled lives. So bring your talents to a new role that’s as diverse and challenging as it is rewarding.

You will play your part in achieving that as you take responsibility for the well-being of girls within the House. Providing key support to the Housemistress in the smooth day-to-day running of the House, you will also help to oversee the pastoral care and academic progress of day girls and boarders.

As well as excellent communication skills, you should bring strong administrative abilities and a well organised approach. A friendly, nurturing and sympathetic attitude is also important, alongside upholding the highest standards of discipline. High levels of energy and stamina are needed to make the most of this residential post

Woldingham is a happy and successful Catholic boarding and day school for girls aged 11 to 18 and is firmly established as one of the top girls’ independent schools in the UK, outperforming many schools that are far more selective in their admissions process. Central to this achievement is Woldingham’s academic enrichment and extra-curricular programmes, pastoral support and caring community. Close to London, yet in an outstandingly beautiful rural setting, Woldingham has a strong community and culture building on a proud heritage that stretches back 175 years. We are committed to an exciting future that is underpinned by fresh ideas, an innovative spirit and state-of-the-art facilities.

Salary: Competitive. All staff receive free lunches and refreshments.

Please visit our website by clicking on the Apply button below to download an application form. Once completed, return it to hr@woldinghamschool.co.uk no later than 9am on 18 June 2018. Interviews will be held w/c 25 June 2018.

Woldingham School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS report will be required for the successful candidate.

Professional development and staff welfare

Our professional team of staff is Woldingham’s greatest asset, and we want to ensure that everyone is supported to work in an effective, enjoyable and fulfilling way. Staff Development is a high priority, with induction and mentoring programmes for Newly Qualified Teachers and new colleagues, plus an annual cycle of Personal Professional Development planning for all colleagues.

Staff are welcome to use our range of outstanding facilities including the gym, squash and tennis courts and the swimming pool. Our Staffroom Committee organises regular social events, and individual members of staff have organised yoga classes and reflexology on site.
