Attendance & Welfare Officer - Term time only
Daily Hours: 8am - 3pm
NJC Pay Scale Grade 5 point 23-25 FTE £24,267.00 (pro rata)
Woodcote High School has long been a top choice for parents in the Coulsdon & Purley area of South London. Located in a pleasant suburban setting on the borders of Surrey, Sutton and Croydon, the school has a rural feel.
Judged “good” by Ofsted in 2015 in all areas. Inspectors praised our students as “attentive, hardworking and practically always keen to learn. They get down to work fast and keep going diligently”. We are recognised by the DfE as providing outstanding value for money.
We are seeking to appoint a confident and proactive individual to join the school’s pastoral team as Attendance and Welfare Officer. As well as administering the school’s registration procedures, the job will involve working directly with students and parents where attendance has been, or is becoming, an issue. The ability to interact, empathise and persuade are key skills. Hence, experience of working in a busy school environment would also be an advantage.
If you have the energy, ambition and a passion for working directly with young people, many of whom are experiencing home issues and barriers to their learning, then we would like to hear from you.
Visits are welcomed and encouraged so please telephone the school if you would like to arrange an informal visit before you apply. Applications are welcome from all applicants who feel that they can make a significant contribution to the lives of young people.
You can download all the details and an application form for this post from www.woodcotehigh.com (click on staff vacancies link at the bottom of the home page), Croydon Council’s website, www.croydon.gov.uk/jobsatcroydon/search-jobs, TES HireWire, www.tesglobal.com. Alternatively you can telephone or email the school.
Closing date for applications: As soon as possible but no later than 12 noon on Thursday 1st February 2018.
