Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and approachable Lead Playworker to manage our Breakfast and After School Club teams. If you enjoy working with children, and want to provide and develop high quality child centered play activities in a relaxed, safe and secure environment then this could be the job for you.

You will be responsible for the planning, resourcing and organisation of stimulating activities, managing Playworkers at both locations, liaising with the schools and administrative duties including the maintenance of records. You will be based at Oak Lodge Primary School but will be required to visit Wickham Common Primary School at least once a week.

Previous experience as a leader and working with children would be a distinct advantage. Your ability to establish good relationships with both pupils and staff, together with an understanding of managing pupil behaviour is essential. You will also have a recognised paediatric first aid qualification and food hygiene certificate or be willing to undertake training. 

Hours of work: 25 hours per week: 1.30pm to 6.30pm, Term time only (38 weeks). 

Rate of Pay BR6 (£20,325 to £22,721 pro-rata).

Oak Lodge is a large primary school situated in West Wickham on the borders of Croydon and Bromley.  The school is organised in seven year groups - Reception to Year 6 with three classes in each year group.  We have excellent facilities and secure learning environment allowing us to deliver a curriculum rich with opportunities and a variety of learning experiences.
