A unique opportunity to join the professional staff of this excellent school has arisen. We are looking for a Careers Advisor to work with our students to provide a full and impartial careers advice service, including additional support for disadvantaged students.
Usual working weeks: 40 weeks per year
Usual hours of work: 37 hours per week
This is a term time, plus one week of school holidays position
Kingdown School is ranked in the top 10 secondary schools in Wiltshire situated in Warminster in the heart of beautiful rural Wiltshire with excellent links to Salisbury, Bath, Bristol and the South-West. Kingdown School is an academy under the Acorn Education Trust providing exciting opportunities to improve local education and draw on the collective experience of a Trust.
The role will include:
- Providing a comprehensive Careers advice service for students 11-18 years
- Arranging Work Experience
- Liaison with employers
- Providing support, encouragement and engagement to all students
- Providing additional careers guidance and support for disadvantaged students
We will be pleased to hear from you if you can demonstrate that you:
- Are educated to degree level with an appropriate Careers Advisor’s qualification and membership of The Careers Development Institute
- Are able to forge effective working relationships with young people
- Have excellent communication, interpersonal and ICT skills
- Are highly organised
- Are self-motivated, dedicated, consistent and have a confident and engaging personality
- Are able to work with a variety of staff and students
- Are a really strong team player
