A chance to flourish and excel

Are you ready to spread your wings in a new role? Are you inspired and passionate about junior school education? Are you the one who can inspire our children to be the best versions of themselves, so that they make a positive difference to the world?

It is our School Vision that:

 We will work collectively to help children to develop into the best versions of themselves.

 Children will leave our school as responsible citizens who can make a positive difference to the world.

The pupils, staff and governors of Someries Junior School are looking for a great key stage 2 teacher to join the team in our small and friendly junior school to help us make this vision a reality for the children here.

We welcome applications from experienced primary teachers who are looking for a school where they can flourish and further enhance their skills by working with our supportive team. We would also welcome applications from those with experience in year 2 at infant school or key stage 3.

We also welcome applications from NQT's who would be able to start with us in July.

Our School

We are situated near the Hertfordshire borders on the outskirts of Luton, an area that offers the conveniences of a modern town and the green spaces of the countryside. It is near transport connections by road, rail and air to London, the UK and beyond.

We are a small two-form entry junior school with an expansive site including large playing fields for our children to enjoy. We work in collaboration with our outstanding partner infant school to ensure that children benefit from the Someries experience from nursery to year 6. Teachers benefit from training and networking opportunities to meet their professional needs.

The school offers:

- enthusiastic pupils who love learning

- an ethos of team working and mutual support

- supportive parents, carers and governors

- senior leaders that create a culture where all are valued and can thrive

- a good recent record of achievement (in line with national attainment)

As a teacher at our school you will:

- be given the freedom to focus on what you are in the job for – teach!

- use your drive, enthusiasm and commitment to enhance our school further

- use your initiative, be innovative and play your role in a team

- work with specialist music and PE teachers to develop your practice

- have a dedicated afternoon each week alongside the other teacher in your year group for planning

- be friendly, caring and hardworking, modelling our values in all that you do.

We only recruit teachers who are passionate about making a difference to children’s lives - professionals who are keen to keep on improving. If this is you then we would love to meet you! To give you a flavour of life at Someries Juniors we welcome you warmly to visit us for a tour with our head teacher, Jason Hunt.

To arrange this please contact our office manager Dawn Dudley -  on 01582 738810 or someriesjuniors.admin@lbc.luton.sch.uk
