Pakefield Primary School is a mixed Primary School and a proud partner of the Active Learning Trust (ALT).  The school currently caters for children between 3 and 11 years of age from Pakefield and the surrounding area. Our Nursery caters for children between 3 and 4 years of age. At the age of eleven, children from Pakefield Primary will mainly transfer to  Pakefield High School, which is situated on the same site.

The school role is currently 470 which includes the nursery which caters for up to 26 children  in the morning session.  The annual intake is currently set at a maximum of 60 per year group.

The school was originally opened in 1913, with additional building added during the 1990’s. In September 2011, a purpose built early years block was built to accommodate nursery, reception and year 1 children; all of which base their learning on the Early Years principles. Outside there are extensive grounds with two main hard surfaced playgrounds, a large playing field, pond and wildlife garden and a plot where children grow their own vegetables.

Pakefield Primary School is a part of the ALT North Lowestoft Hub of Schools which means we support each other to develop our thinking and pedagogy.  All staff have the opportunity to  grow, for example Subject Leaders work have been working in partnership to enhance our curriculum offer not only for all of our children in our Hub, but across the 21 schools in our Trust.

Pakefield children enjoy their learning and are a delight. When you come into the school you can see how happy, engaged and confident our children are. They and their parents feel that they are safe in school and well provided for. Our school development plan focuses on the development of reading and phonics and the way we offer different challenge for our  children. We are proud that our curriculum offer is based in and around our local community and the surrounding areas.

We have a committed and caring staff. We set high expectations for each child, encouraging them always to aim for ‘Be the Best You Can Be’ in work, behaviour and recreation. We value all members of the school community, seeking to enable all children to achieve success and celebrate this within the school and the local community.

We welcome visitors and would recommend coming to take a took for yourself. or logging onto our website - www.pakefieldprimaryschool.org.uk.
