Job overview

This ‘outstanding’ Sixth Form College, based in Manchester, is looking to appoint a Counsellor to manage and deliver an effective counselling service to students in order to provide personal support and to help promote wellbeing in the College. The successful candidate will work alongside the Senior Counsellor to oversee and manage the counselling provision within the College for students. He/she will act as a counsellor to individual students working through a diverse range of issues, including, but not limited to, low mood, depression and anxiety, self-harm and eating disorders. He/she will liaise with external agencies, such as mental health services, to support students, and make referrals when more specialised support is required. Start Date: as soon as possible

Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week, term time + 1 week (39 weeks per academic year).

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £21,244 - £22,618 pa (SFCA Salary Scale for Support Staff pt 15-17 term time + one week) dependent on experience
