Cover Supervisor

32.5 hours (8.30 am to 3.45 pm) x 45.6 weeks (term-time only)

Salary:  SO1 (£28356-£30108 pro rata ACTUAL salary £22388-£23771)

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated colleague to join our cover supervisor team. Cover supervisors are responsible for covering classes when the regular teacher is absent, ensuring that students can carry on learning as usual, that good progress is made and that good levels of behaviour are maintained. Cover work will be supplied for all lessons.

The successful applicant will be required to cover classes across all subjects and across the primary and the secondary. When cover is not needed, cover supervisors are asked to help out with other duties such as supporting children in class or helping at break and lunchtime.

We are looking for applicants who have good interpersonal and organisational skills, a positive outlook and the ability to develop good working relationships with students and staff.

Working as a cover supervisor is an excellent route into teaching and getting you used to the classroom environment. We welcome anyone who is interested in becoming a teacher either as a first career or a career change. If you are a graduate who is considering teaching in the future then this may be the role for you.

Visits are encouraged. Please contact Androulla Christodoulou, HR Manager, on 020 8539 6198 to make an appointment.

Applications must be submitted by 12 noon Friday 22nd June 2018. Interviews will be held in the week commencing 25th June 2018.

Further information about the school can be found on our website – www.georgemitchellschool.co.uk. All completed applications should be emailed to androulla.christodoulou@georgemitchellschool.co.uk. Please note that we do not accept CV applications.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  Offer of a position is subject to receiving satisfactory references and an Enhanced DBS Clearance.
