We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic, and talented leader to the post of Deputy Head for Curriculum and Standards although a Senior Deputy Head position may be discussed for a suitably experienced candidate. 

To be successful you will firstly need to be an outstanding classroom practitioner, you will also need to be an exceptional and inspiring leader with a track record of improving standards, modelling the tenacity and the integrity required to deliver in challenging circumstances, remove barriers, and communicate a vision that inspires, motivates, and enthuses – fostering a passion for ensuring every child receives the very best level of education possible.

About Rayner Stephens High School

Rayner Stephens High School was opened in 2017 when the school was first acadamised. The school is located in Dukinfield, between Hyde and Stalybridge, just on the south side of the River Tame, in Tameside, Greater Manchester, and serves its local community. We are 8 miles to the east of the city of Manchester, and a similar distance from the hills and dales of the Derbyshire Peak District - an easy commute from most of the North-West region. The school has been on a journey of improvement, both in the quality of provision and in the development of facilities, with a £1.3 million building project due to be completed by the end of 2021.

Rayner Stephens High School is very proud of our learners’ achievements and the improvements that have taken place since it was established. We have a strong ethos of ambition and aspiration, embodied through the school’s values of ASPIRE. Rayner Stephens is a highly inclusive school and holds the Inclusion Quality Mark ‘Centre of Excellence’ for the level of provision that we provide. We embrace the fact that we are quite a small school, currently just over 600 learners, and celebrate the opportunities this provides to create a strong community environment. It allows us to know all our learners and colleagues as individuals and to personalise their journey and value their unique contributions.

Rayner Stephens High School is a part of Stamford Park Trust, a Multi-Academy Trust established in February 2019. The Trust initially comprised of one educational institution, the Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ Ashton Sixth Form College. The College was joined by two 11-16 High Schools in January 2021 with Rayner Stephens High School and Longdendale High School transferring into the Trust. The vision for Stamford Park Trust is ‘Excellence and ambition for all.’  The College will support a positive transformation of educational provision in the two schools, and so improve the quality of education in the Borough, and the life chances for our children.
