 We are seeking to appoint a full-time Finance Officer to work in the Bursar’s Office.The Finance Officer will be a key member of school support staff and will liaise regularly with the Bursar and other members of the Senior Leadership Team.The successful candidate will be fully committed to working in a front line role and providing excellent customer service to support the School; will relish working in a fast-paced environment and will have a proven ability to see tasks through to completion.

The ability to remain calm under pressure is important, together with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and not be phased when unexpected tasks land in your inbox or on your desk.

Experience of payroll and financial systems and controls is essential. Experience of school finance is desirable – alternatively the willingness to learn and the ability to apply finance experience gained in another sector is essential. The ability to communicate effectively and confidently is also vital to the post, as is the ability to use IT.

The role is a permanent, full-time position (not term time only) with 4 weeks holiday. The successful candidate will work 37.5 hours per week, 5 days a week. The position has been evaluated at SCP 35 on the Support Staff salary scale, which equates to a salary of approximately £31,401 per annum.

Saint Nicholas is an independent co-educational day school for children aged 2 to 16 years. The school is located on a single site of fourteen acres divided into four constituent parts: the Pre-school, Lower School, Middle School and Upper School. The school is set in beautiful grounds and has superb facilities including a sports hall, swimming pool and theatre as well as extensive outdoor learning and play areas.
