Job overview

The new General Director, in collaboration with the rest of the school community, will be responsible for growing The Victoria School to reach its capacity, building upon the school's rich heritage and culture while charting a new course that will take us confidently into the future.

The Victoria School is subsequently seeking a successful leader who possesses the following qualifications and qualities:

  • An instructional leader who can deliver excellence in education in an inclusive school environment, with a strong Colombian flavour. Knowledge and understanding of the IB is essential.
  • A strategic thinker who can grow our school community to optimize the use of our educational facilities through increasing student numbers, prioritizing excellence in education, building marketing competencies to help brand The Victoria School as the school of choice for both expats coming to Colombia who want their children to experience an International yet Colombian school and other local families who want to give their children an international education at home in Colombia.
  • A results-focused organizer and manager who can prioritize efficiently, motivate and lead a strong faculty and foster the professional growth and development of our staff to achieve excellence in internal and external professional development.
  • A dedicated and visible ambassador of the school's Mission and Vision who is emotionally intelligent and approachable.
  • A passionate leader who is able to lead, motivate and build a strong sense of team.
  • A natural communicator and listener, who understands the importance of getting and keeping all stakeholders on board, both within the school and the broader community that The Victoria School inhabits.
  • The ability to incorporate and inject innovation and entrepreneurship into the life of the school.
  • A global citizen, preferably with previous international experience and hands-on knowledge of Latin American/Colombian culture.
  • A qualified teaching professional with a proven track record of whole school leadership.
  • The ability to speak English and Spanish is essential.

TVS is delighted to announce that The Board of Directors of the Victoria School invites excellent applicants who feel that they would be able to guide our school forward to apply to join and lead our Senior Leadership Team. This position would be ideal for experienced Heads of Schools, or those who are ready to assume their first Headship.

Longlisted candidates will be sent pre-interview questions to be answered before being shortlisted as finalists. If the school receives an outstanding application, the Selection Committee reserves the right to make an appointment before the closing date. The review of files will begin as soon as applications are received. Finalists will be invited to interview via Skype if they currently reside abroad, or in person at our school if they live in Colombia.
