Job overview

GEOGRAPHY CO-ORDINATOR YEARS 7 - 9

MPR + TLR 2c (£3021)

Required September 1st  2019

Moulsham High School has an excellent academic record, a genuine commitment to the welfare and development of staff and high expectations of student behaviour.  The school was inspected in 2015 and was described as being good overall with many outstanding features.  The Real Schools Guide 2018 placed Moulsham in top 10% of all schools nationally.

We are looking for an experienced, high quality and ambitious geography specialist who is ready to hold a middle management responsibility.  The successful candidate will join a highly successful geography department and be required to teach geography up to and including A level.

In addition, you will be accountable for the standards reached by all students throughout Years 7-9 and the quality of education received by them.

As part of the school’s humanities specialism, geography is a highly valued subject in the curriculum.  It is one of the most popular options at both KS4 and KS5 and boasts a proven track record of success at both key stages.  At G.C.S.E., 78% students achieved grades 9-4 in 2018.  All geography teachers have their own classrooms which are adjacent to each other in the humanities building and are fitted with projector, interactive whiteboard and internet access.  Fieldwork is a real strength of the department.

Moulsham High School has a close working relationship with an on-site early year’s childcare provider. This enables staff working at the school to receive a discount if full day nursery or wrap around care is required.

Visits to the school prior to application are most welcome and can be arranged using the contact details given below.

Closing date: Monday, 4th February 2019
