We are currently looking for an experienced and inspirational hockey coach to deliver our outstanding hockey programme across all Key Stages; enhancing the provision of the game in school for pupils of all abilities, developing a pathway for talented players and running an extensive fixture list.

A bit about you:

With a minimum Level 1 qualification in Coaching Hockey and a passion for the game, you will have experience of coaching juniors either in a club or school setting and a good understanding of the tactics and strategies of competitive hockey. You will be a good team-player with the skill to encourage our young people in a culture of fair play, boost their individual confidence and raise positive sports’ spirit.

Wycliffe is a thriving day and boarding school for boys and girls aged from 3 to 18, set within the heart of the Cotswolds. Children join our Nursery Class from 3+ years. The Nursery offers a stimulating and safe environment, within the beautiful grounds of the Preparatory School, for children to start their first steps to learning. Our stand-alone Preparatory School is for children aged from 4+ to 13 years, where they can flourish and where they are encouraged to do their best. A bit about the role:

This is a temporary position offered on a part-time basis for the Autumn 2022/23 term. Working hours are 12.30pm – 5.30pm Monday to Friday (25 hours per week) with flexibility required for Saturday matches depending on published fixtures.

Pay (Wycliffe Coaching Scale): £14.91 – £24.85ph depending on level of coaching qualification.

About Us

Wycliffe is an HMC co-educational day and boarding school. Wycliffe is located in Stonehouse, approximately 25 miles north of Bristol and 15 miles south of Cheltenham and Gloucester. Access via the motorway network is convenient (we are 3 miles from the M5) and there is a train station in Stonehouse (on the main line from London to Cheltenham) which is just a two minute walk from the school gates. In the Senior School pupils join at Year 9 (age 13) and continue until Year 13 (age 18). There are around 420 pupils in the school and 225 in the Sixth Form. Some 27 subjects are offered at A Level including Japanese, Film Studies, Computer Science and Psychology. Three BTECs are on offer as well as the EPQ. Main sports are rugby, football and cricket for boys with hockey, netball and tennis for girls. Wycliffe is the top school in the UK for squash, and excels at rowing and basketball and there is a thriving CCF.
