About Pennthorpe School
Pennthorpe is a co-educational independent preparatory day school located in the village of Rudgwick, along the Surrey/Sussex border, for children ages 2 to 13 years. Pennthorpe sits within a beautiful 25-acre site with extensive facilities and 16 acres of luscious woodland.
Pennthorpe is renowned for an innovative curriculum, exceptional pastoral care, immaculate, child-friendly campus and exceptional record for Scholarships and Common Entrance results. “Non nobis solum nati” is Pennthorpe’s official motto: “Born not for ourselves alone”. The ‘Pennthorpe Purpose’ relays the importance of positive contribution to the lives, and for the benefit, of others - not just to serve our own intentions. The children enjoy the most compelling educational experience possible; to nurture their positivity, tolerance, resilience and collaboration; and to prepare them to pursue their individual aspirations and contribute to the world.
Whether it’s academic achievement, consideration and kindness towards others, or an energetic and positive attitude – excellence underpins all that we do at Pennthorpe, and all that we strive to be together. Pennthorpe has been successfully preparing children for a variety of public senior schools since 1930.
