Job overview

Be a fully qualified teacher with at least 3 years of experience working in a British School either in the UK or in an international setting.

● Experience of teaching History or Geography across the full Secondary age range is essential.

● Have experience of a middle leadership post within a British style school either in the UK or internationally.

● Be experienced in the delivery of the History and Geography at IGCSE/GCSE/GCE/IAL and the UK National Curriculum at KS3. Experience of IBMYP is desirable but not essential.

● Have excellent planning, organisation and communication skills

● Have experience of developing extra-curricular or visits and trips programmes in humanities

● Be able to work collaboratively in a team, showing sensitivity to the needs and interests of others, seeing the opportunities in everyday situations, thinking creatively, assessing and reacting to the context around them and wanting to be part of a successful team.

● Be able to demonstrate an understanding of assessment and a knowledge of secondary

assessment practices across History or Geography

● Be committed to regular and ongoing professional development

● Be able to utilise the excellent

● Be a fluent English speaker

About El Alsson, British & American International School

El  Alsson British and American International Schools NEW GIZA is a private international school offering the choice between British and American education. Having moved to its newly established campus at NEW GIZA in 2017, it now occupies a 14 fedaan site with British Primary and Secondary accommodated in connected buildings as well as the American Elementary and Senior connected buildings. It also has a standalone Performing Arts Hall featuring a radio room, music practice rooms, drama studios and a state of the art theatre along with a standalone Sports Hall featuring two heated indoor pools, basketball courts, and a multipurpose studio.

El  Alsson British and American International School encourages pupils to take part in extra-curricular activities. These include rugby, basketball, volleyball and football. Academic success is valued by the school. The British School follows both the English National Curriculum and the International Early Years & Primary Curriculum, International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme, IGCSE & GCSE and GCE and IAL qualifications for students from FS1 to Year 13. The school also teaches the Egyptian national curriculum for Arabic studies, Social studies and Religion. Children at El Alsson are happy and achieve high academic standards and are respectful to all and  be tolerant to those in the diverse community they live within. Teachers nurture and support the students.
