A unique opportunity exists for a talented and experienced leader of Learning Support & SEN to join the Trafford College Group and play a leading role in realising our vision of being a dynamic career college. 

This is an exciting time to join the Group following Trafford College’s merger with Stockport College.   As Head if Learning Support and SEN you will be the strategic lead for effective transition under SEND legislation for the Group to secure excellent learning pathways for learners. You will proactively lead on SEND activities including strategy, policy formulation and implementation including Education Health and Care Plans, liaising with stakeholders, providing line management to the Education Health and Care Plan co-ordinators, Learning Support Co-ordinators, Specialist Assessment Team leader and the Student Support Assistant. You will also be expected to effectively manage financial and physical resources across your areas of responsibility.  

We are looking for someone with experience of working with 16-19 year olds in a Further Education setting with a detailed knowledge of the Learning Support and SEND area and an ability to develop an effective working relationship with delivery areas. 

A detailed knowledge of the range of national and local issues facing 16-19 year old young people and appropriate services available for signposting is also essential as well as a proven track record of effective partnership working with local authorities, young people, parents / carers in respect of EHCP and High Needs.  A degree is essential as well as a level 2 qualification in Maths and English.   A Level 7 SEN qualification is also desirable.
