 Cairo English School, established in 2006, is a vibrant and dynamic school where learning and student achievement reinforce the school’s reputation for excellence in education in Cairo, Egypt. At CES, 1700 students enjoy an English education that meets the latest English National Curriculum standards, IGCSE and IB Diploma programme requirements.The Primary School at CES has 650 students in Year Levels 3-6.  The role and responsibilities of the Head of Primary will include instructional supervision and leadership, ensuring accreditation standards are met, and teacher and support staff appraisals are completed in accordance with defined policies and practices. The Head of Primary must ensure professional learning opportunities are available to build capacity and competence within the school, teachers work in teams with a common purpose, and academic achievement is at expected levels and above. Achievement data is to be thoroughly documented, collated, analysed and reported, with intervention strategies put in place as required to support and enrich student learning.  The Head of Primary is expected to work collegially with the Headmaster, Esol Education Board members, other Heads of School, and Key Stage 2 Deputy/Assistant Heads to ensure the school’s Guiding Statements and outstanding educational programmes are implemented comprehensively, creatively and effectively. The Head of Primary is expected to lead by example and by design, making sure all staff are held accountable for what is expected of them and celebrated for their successes.Preference will be given to candidates with a proven record of being dynamic, thoughtful and reflective leaders in schools similar to CES, familiar with the English National Curriculum, who have a strong background in curriculum design, contemporary pedagogy, working with English language learners, and specialization in reading and /or literacy development.Please send your curriculum vitae, photograph, at least three reference contacts, a statement of your educational philosophy and two open references.CES offers its teaching staff:Tax free salary in Pounds Sterling (25% converted        to local currency)

CES VISION - Together Achieving Personal Excellence

Curriculum:

CES teaches the National Curriculum of England and Wales, applying the same educational standards as are offered in England, with modifications attuned to our Egyptian environment. Subjects offered at CES include; English, Mathematics, Science, Art & Design, Music, Geography, History, ICT, PE, Modern Foreign Languages, Design Technology and Personal Social Health Education. English is the language of instruction at CES. Ministry of Education Arabic, Religion and Social Studies are offered from Year 1 and French from Year 3.

CES initially opened from Foundation Stage 1 to Year 9. Year 10 opened in September 2007 and the school offers IGCSE at Year 9 and 10, , A Levels and IB Diploma Programme. is offered in Years 11 and 12 in preparation for university entrance within Egypt, United Kingdom and to other countries.

The curriculum is further enriched by the addition of a Learning Support programme, English as a Second Language and a comprehensive after school extra-curricular programme and a sports teams.

Cairo English School has the physical classroom space to accommodate up to 1800 students, with the building designed to house the students on three levels – Early Years on the ground floor. Primary School on the middle floor and Secondary School on the top floor.
