Applications are invited for this key leadership role of Learning Area Leader Theatre & Dance Years 7 – 12 at our Wheelers Hill Campus. This is a permanent, full-time position.

Responsible for the Theatre and Dance program, it’s evaluation and constant improvement focus you will nurture a vibrant learning culture.

Duties 

  • Lead, support and facilitate the Theatre/Dance Learning Area team within both the academic and co-curricular areas
  • Demonstrate an understanding and commitment to the Vision, Mission and Values of our school
  • Responsible for ongoing commitment to quality performance by all team members
  • Initiate strategies with others to continuously improve the quality of the program
  • Monitor resources to ensure the best possible outcomes for all students
  • Deliver curriculum and innovation within the classroom
  • Facilitate assessment and subsequent reporting
  • Manage budgets and expenditure
  • Co-ordinate documentation for the learning area
  • Active involvement in Campus activities

Selection Criteria

  • Exceptional knowledge and experience in teaching Theatre in years 7 to 12
  • Extensive experience in leading the development, coordination and implementation of innovative approaches in the teaching of Theatre and Dance
  • Experience in managing and leading a team of professionals
  • Experience in Theatre and Dance Program which builds community.
  • Extensive experience at leading a strong Theatre and Dance performance program
  • Proven record of high academic achievement at VCE level in Theatre Studies/Dance
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development
  • Current VIT registration
