Smart Teachers is recruiting for a History Teacher able to educate up to KS5 to join a selective grammar school in the London Borough of Bexley. The school focuses on hard work and a high level of achievement of both staff and students, as well as developing rounded and confident young men and women. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to join an outstanding department with a proven record of accomplishment and embracing innovative approaches to teaching & learning. History is a popular and well-established subject in the school. The department is well resourced and staffed by established and experienced colleagues. Very good numbers opt to take the subject at KS4 and KS5. 

About the Role

  • Teacher of History up to and including KS5 
  • Temporary, part-time (0.6 FTE) position set to commence after the October 2018 half-term for nine months
  • Salary in line with the Main Pay Scale and OLA (equating between £26,000 - £42,000 depending on experience)

In order to be considered for this role, the History Teacher will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Have a qualification such as BA Education, PGCE, or equivalent
  • Proven experience of delivering the UK curriculum in History to KS5 within the past two years (crucial) 
  • Outstanding classroom practitioning skills or the drive to become outstanding 
  • Eligible to work in the UK (must have valid visa)
  • Recent classroom-based references and valid DBS / police checks
