Salary: Scale PO1(starting salary £28,652) 35 hours a week term time only + 1 week

Oaklands School requires a pastoral leader from September 2018 to lead on pastoral support for our sixth form students. The successful candidate will work with staff and students to ensure high standards of academic, personal and social development, high standards of behaviour and to celebrate success. You must be able to relate to young people and their parents/carers, and have the ability to liaise with teachers and other professionals. You will need energy, patience, a sense of humour, a strong character and be committed to lifelong learning. Good communication skills are essential.

Oaklands is a mixed, comprehensive, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form situated in East London. It is a community state school as well as a NSS (National Support School] that provides support to other schools. A smaller than average secondary school, it will provide 850 places for secondary and sixth form students between the ages of 11-18, when fully subscribed.

With over 20 years’ worth of educational success, Oaklands has been a specialist school for science since 2003 and became a specialist modern foreign language school in 2008.
