Governors at this aspirational Catholic High School are seeking to appoint a Learning Mentor to work on a small group and 1 – 1 basis to support students with their academic skills.   The post is for a fixed term in the first instance. The role is an extremely rewarding one and would be excellent school based experience for anyone considering a teaching career as well as those who already have teaching or mentoring experience. We are seeking an individual who possesses tact and flexibility, has excellent teamworking skills and maintains high standards for themselves and others.  

Willingness to support the Catholic ethos of the school is essential.

Based in West Yorkshire, Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School is a mainstream secondary school for girls and boys aged between 11 and 16. It is a voluntary aided establishment. Its denomination is Roman Catholic. It is based in the town of Meanwood in Leeds. At present, there are currently approximately 918 students enrolled at the school.

Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School values religious studies. Children are encouraged to demonstrate their talents and develop new skills by following the rules of Christianity. Therefore, Religious Education is one of the most valued subjects at the school. Their aim is to respect others and make the world a better place to live in. Worshiping Christ is valued and pupils’ achievement is celebrated by all. Students should also be tolerant of people from all backgrounds of life.
