Learning Support Assistant

Bishop Ramsey is seeking to appoint a number of Learning Support Assistants to provide classroom support for students with Special Educational Needs. The successful candidates will work within the Learning Support Unit of this outstanding 11-18 Church of England Academy, one of only 43 schools in the country to be recognised as “World Class”. For a candidate with exceptional, successful experience of managing behaviour within a SEN environment, there may be an opportunity to take on a more senior role.

Bishop Ramsey is a heavily oversubscribed 11-18 Anglican mixed Academy, with high academic standards as well as a tradition of pastoral care. We are recognised as “outstanding” in all categories by Ofsted and were also judged “outstanding” across the board in our SIAMS Inspection in January 2018. We have excellent facilities and a strong record of academic success.

This post would provide an ideal opportunity to gain school experience and understand how children learn for anyone wanting to enter a career in teaching. The following year, there may be opportunity to train to teach at Bishop Ramsey School via the Hillingdon SCITT.

(School experience is needed for all routes into teaching, especially for a Schools Direct salaried route where 3 years’ work including experience with children is required beyond your degree.)

The role is on a fixed term contract to July 2019 working 32.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only).
