The river is close to our hearts and offers us a link to the sea, which gives us our heritage. The London Nautical School is a dynamic and progressive school that has high aspirations for its staff and students. With our 600+ students we are a close-knit, warm environment seeking colleagues who value this and wish to contribute to the wider life of our school and community.

This post would ideally suit someone with sound knowledge of Maritime studies and the Maritime industry with relevant qualifications and experience in watersports activities including experience of class based teaching/instruction.

Our school has a unique Nautical heritage with students taking part in Nautical studies from year 7 through to 13. Students take part in RYA sailing courses following the Youth Sailing Scheme and the BCU Paddle Power training scheme using the school’s fleet of boats and our partnership with the Sea Cadets. From year 9 upwards, Maritime studies is very popular and can be chosen as one of their GCSE options. At key stage 5 we offer level 3 Open Awards Maritime Courses.

We have a proven track record of introducing young people to both sailing and kayaking with the specific focus on boat handling and seamanship skills. Our nautical ethos has allow the school to introduce year 7’s to a programme of nautical studies and prepare students for a potential career within the Merchant and Royal Navy. Many of our students go on from the Sixth Form to become Deck Officers, Engineering Officers and various career roles within the Royal Navy.
