NATIONAL ACADEMY FOR EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP (NAEL)

Appointment of 3 Members

Remuneration for Board Members is £80 per day, one day per month.

International research demonstrates that school leadership is second only to classroom teaching as an influence on pupil learning.  Evidence indicates that Wales needs to build leadership capacity if it is to enable learners to reach their potential.

To address the issues of educational leadership in Wales the Welsh Government established the National Academy for Educational Leadership (NAEL) in May 2018. The creation of the NAEL was both a Programme for Government commitment and a key deliverable of Education in Wales: Our National Mission.

We are now seeking three new Board Members to replace those who have reached the end of their term of office.

The NAEL is responsible for the strategic oversight and direction of leadership provision to meet the needs of the education system within Wales.  The NAEL Board plays a critical role in providing constructive challenge, support and direction to the organisation.

As a Board Member you will help to ensure the organisation meets the needs of the education profession and improves the leadership skills of educational leaders in Wales.

We are looking for inspiring, motivational individuals with an excellent track record, including a focus on governance, enthusing staff and stakeholders and demonstrating an inclusive and collaborative approach. You will need to support the NAEL in building an aspirational, inspirational and enabling culture not only for the organisation itself but also amongst the wider educational stakeholders, the current and aspiring leaders of education in Wales.

For further information or an informal chat about this key role, contact Michaela Renkes on 03000 255941.

Meetings are currently virtual, through platforms such as Teams, but should circumstances allow in future are likely to be held anywhere in Wales.

It is the policy of the Welsh Government to promote and integrate equality of opportunity into all aspects of its business including appointments to public bodies. Applications are welcomed and encouraged from all groups and we ensure that no eligible candidate for public office receives less favourable treatment on the grounds of age, disability, gender, marital status, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, or pregnancy and maternity. The principles of fair and open competition will apply and appointments will be made on merit

The closing date for receipt of applications is 22 December 2021. Application forms received after this date will not be considered. It is expected to hold interviews during 17 and 18 February 2022.

Penodi 3 Aelod

Tâl i Aelodau'r Bwrdd yw £80 y dydd, ar gyfer un diwrnod y mis.

Mae ymchwil ryngwladol yn dangos bod arweinyddiaeth ysgolion yn ail yn unig i addysgu yn yr ystafell ddosbarth fel dylanwad ar ddysgu disgyblion. Mae tystiolaeth yn dangos bod angen i Gymru feithrin gallu i arwain os yw am alluogi dysgwyr i gyrraedd eu potensial.

Er mwyn mynd i'r afael â materion arweinyddiaeth addysgol yng Nghymru, sefydlodd Llywodraeth Cymru yr Academi Genedlaethol ar gyfer Arweinyddiaeth Addysgol ym mis Mai 2018. Roedd creu'r Academi yn un o ymrwymiadau'r Rhaglen Lywodraethu ac yn un o'r prif nodau yn Addysg yng Nghymru: Cenhadaeth ein Cenedl.

Rydym bellach yn chwilio am dri Aelod Bwrdd newydd i gymryd lle'r rhai sydd wedi cyrraedd diwedd eu cyfnod yn y swydd.

Mae'r Academi’n gyfrifol am oruchwyliaeth a chyfeiriad strategol y ddarpariaeth arweinyddiaeth i ddiwallu anghenion y system addysg yng Nghymru. Mae Bwrdd yr Academi’n chwarae rhan hollbwysig yn y gwaith o ddarparu her adeiladol, cefnogaeth a chyfeiriad i’r sefydliad.

Fel Aelod o'r Bwrdd byddwch yn helpu i sicrhau bod y sefydliad yn diwallu anghenion y proffesiwn addysg ac yn gwella sgiliau arwain arweinwyr addysgol yng Nghymru.

Rydym yn chwilio am unigolion ysbrydoledig a brwdfrydig sydd â hanes rhagorol, gan gynnwys o ran llywodraethu, ennyn brwdfrydedd staff a rhanddeiliaid a dangos agwedd cynhwysol a chydweithredol. Bydd angen i chi gefnogi'r Academi i adeiladu diwylliant uchelgeisiol, ysbrydoledig a galluogol nid yn unig i'r sefydliad ei hun ond hefyd ymhlith y rhanddeiliaid addysgol ehangach, arweinwyr addysg presennol a darpar arweinwyr addysg yng Nghymru.

Cynhelir y cyfarfodydd yn rhithiol ar hyn o bryd, drwy lwyfannau fel Teams, ond os bydd amgylchiadau'n caniatáu yn y dyfodol, maent yn debygol o gael eu cynnal yn unrhyw le yng Nghymru.

Mae'n bolisi gan Llywodraeth Cymru i hyrwyddo ac integreiddio cyfle cyfartal i bob agwedd ar ei busnes gan gynnwys penodiadau i gyrff cyhoeddus. Mae ceisiadau’n cael eu croesawu a’u hannog gan bob grŵp ac rydym yn sicrhau nad oes unrhyw ymgeisydd cymwys am swydd gyhoeddus yn derbyn triniaeth lai ffafriol ar sail oedran, anabledd, rhyw, statws priodasol, cyfeiriadedd rhywiol, ailbennu rhywedd, hil, crefydd neu gred, neu feichiogrwydd a mamolaeth. Bydd egwyddorion cystadleuaeth deg ac agored yn berthnasol a bydd penodiadau'n cael eu gwneud yn ôl teilyngdod.

Y dyddiad cau ar gyfer derbyn ceisiadau yw 22 Rhagfyr 2021. Ni fydd ffurflenni cais a dderbynnir ar ôl y dyddiad hwn yn cael eu hystyried. Disgwylir iddo gynnal cyfweliadau yn ystod 17 a 18 Chwefror 2022.
