The Role

Joining us, you will be expected to ensure, through effective teaching and learning, that all pupils acquire key skills and are inspired to achieve outstanding progress.  To succeed, you must be innovative in your techniques to motivate and inspire young people; you will also be a great team player and first-class communicator. 

Our Music Department supports pupils to achieve and exceed their potential. Our schemes of learning aim to develop musical and leadership skills whilst also developing independent learning. Pupils study a wide range of music from Samba, African Music, and ‘Exploring Music Technology.’ 

About Us 

Part of the Greenwood Academies Trust (GAT), we are one of the largest 3-19 schools in the country, boasting our own nursery, primary, secondary and sixth form provision. 

We operate across three sites and are led by three Heads of School in conjunction with the Lead Principal, Ged Rae. With new and refurbished buildings, we offer pupils and staff an outstanding learning environment. Our most recent Ofsted in November 2015 judged the academy consistently ‘Good’ and commented that despite its increasing size, it feels calm and orderly and has an atmosphere focused on learning.

For NQTs looking to join the Trust, you can be assured that we will invest in developing your practice to ensure you succeed. All NQTs are required to attend the NQT development programme where you will be taken through a range of core areas of professional development including induction and training days where all the NQTs from the Trust are brought together. This training doesn’t stop at NQTs as the Learning Alliance also offers programmes for Teachers looking to develop techniques and strategies to improve classroom practice.
