Job overview

We are looking to recruit an experienced and highly efficient individual to join our school administration team, based within our school office. The role will function as a core member of the administration team, which consists of five members, two of which are based in the school office. The successful candidate needs to be a team player, quick learner and flexible in their approach. As the post holder will be assisting with a variety of administrative tasks the successful candidate requires a high level of IT skills. Previous school office experience is not essential, but the candidate needs to demonstrate their transferable administration skills.

The school office is a very busy environment, accommodating over 660 pupils, including our on-site nursery, therefore the post holder must be able to effectively juggle multiple tasks. No two days are the same, and the administration team manage a range of tasks. Deadlines require prompt action and the daily tasks of the role require attention to detail.

The successful candidate should be able to use their initiative, have the drive and commitment to ongoing improvement, both within their professional competence and the systems for which they are responsible. They should also be a creative problem solver, with the ability to think ahead and communicate in a timely and effective manner and be able to work under pressure.

The role is for 36 hours a week, working 5 days starting at 8:30am and finishing at 4:40pm with a 1 hour lunch break (unpaid). The contract is for 39 weeks of the year, term time only, including staff training days and 5 days to be agreed according to the business needs of the school.
