Maidwell Hall and Uppingham School are merging and moving forward together to realise our shared values.  The merger will bring a range of exciting new career opportunities, the first of which is the newly created Operations Manager post, ideally suited for experienced facilities, property and/or catering management professionals who want to make their mark by delivering our ambitious plans.

Drawing upon extensive Group resources, the Operations Manager will oversee and develop Maidwell Hall’s day-to-day operational facilities spanning catering, cleaning, buildings maintenance, grounds and gardens, Health & Safety, security, estates and operational compliance, management of contractors, transport and traffic management, procurement, insurances, and commercial lettings. 

Through your diplomacy and effective interpersonal skills, you will inspire Maidwell Hall’s catering, cleaning, maintenance, and administrative staff, motivating them to understand the shared purpose behind their work, developing staff talent and skills, delegating to and empowering staff, and undertaking all line management responsibilities in collaboration with the Headmaster of Maidwell Hall who will assume ultimate responsibility for all staff on site.

The successful candidate will have a relevant qualification in a related discipline, i.e. Business, Procurement, Leadership & Management, as well as being a member of a relevant professional body (IWFM, CIPS, CMI). Your application will need to evidence experience in managing contracts and multiple projects in a related field, i.e. facilities, property management and/or catering. Ideally this will be within an education setting.

Uppingham School is a mixed, Church of England independent secondary school with sixth form and boarding, located in Leicestershire. The secondary school, situated in Uppingham has approximately 791 students on record.

Uppingham School was founded in 1584, originally as a school for boys. In 1975 girls were admitted, and it became fully co-educational as of 2001. The majority of students attending the secondary school are boarders.
