Portsmouth High School has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher and mathematics specialist to become Mathematics Coordinator at our beautiful and thriving Prep school. 

As Mathematics Coordinator, you will lead the mathematics curriculum across Key Stages 1 and 2, developing and implementing policies that will facilitate pupil progress and attainment, ensuring the subject policy is accessible and appropriate to the full range of pupils' educational needs. You will contribute to providing an excellent education for pupils by teaching with expertise and enthusiasm, offering support to the learning of individual students and contributing to the school’s academic and pastoral system. You will also have the opportunity to teach other curriculum subjects across the Prep school.

You will have a secure and thorough understanding of mathematics, an awareness of current subject-related developments as well as knowledge of the key characteristics of quality teaching and learning within the subject. Possessing qualified teacher status, you will demonstrate excellent classroom teaching skills, injecting enthusiasm into your subject.

This role will involve daily contact with children in supporting their learning and out of hours care.
