This exciting and unique role will support the implementation of the Press and PR strategy of OCL and take day-to-day responsibility for the OCL Press Office and political monitoring.

About the role
As the Press and External Relations Officer you will take day-to-day management of an effective OCL Press Office that maximises positive coverage in the media and helps deal with issues and crisis management. You will work closely with the National Communications Manager to help implement the Press and PR Strategy of the organisation, spearhead media campaigns that help OCL fulfil its mission and raise its profile, and support our senior leaders to build and protect our reputation.
Our ideal candidate will:
•Be educated to degree level
•Have experience of media relations and supporting the delivery of positive local and national press coverage
•Have strong experience in copy and content generation
•Have excellent written and oral communication skills
•A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people

The Oasis Story
Oasis Community Learning was born out of the group of Oasis Trust charities which was established in 1985 by Rev Steve Chalke MBE.
Steve’s vision was to create communities where everyone is included, contributing and reaching their God-given potential. His dream was to open a school that was inclusive and provided opportunity for everybody, a hospital for those unable to access good healthcare and a hostel for the homeless.
It was out of this vision that Oasis Community Learning was born, and we have now grown into a significant education provider in just over a decade.
