The school provides world-class academic programs and co-curricular activities set within a framework of values deeply rooted in a strong sense of community. Havergal is now seeking its 12th Principal.

The Principal’s role at Havergal College is multi-faceted and demands a broad range of leadership competencies, experience and personal qualities. The Principal is responsible to the Board of Governors for all aspects of the school’s long-term strategy; operations; fiscal health and management; curriculum and program development; student wellness; community engagement; enrolment management; communications and marketing; and alumnae relations and fundraising.

The ideal candidate is a visionary, forward-thinking leader with a deep affinity for the unique aspects of girls’ education, positioning Havergal for the next generation of learners. You will deeply understand the changing nature of education in the 21st century. Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in education, with preference given to those holding a PhD or EdD. You have a history of innovative educational leadership and a record of achievement, experience and capabilities necessary to guide a school of the calibre and international reputation of Havergal College as both a Canadian and a global leader in girls’ education. You have the demonstrated ability to attract, retain and motivate a top-tier administrative team and faculty, as well as a highly motivated and diverse student body. You possess strong public communication skills, which you will leverage to foster and build a shared vision of the future for the school. You possess deep executive-level experience in managing the diverse functional areas of a large school, including academics; experiential learning; school operations (including financial management); community relations; marketing and communications; admissions and campus management.

Consideration of candidates will commence in September 2018, with the Principal to take office in July 2019. Applications and expressions of interest may be submitted to Jane Griffith (Jane.Griffith@odgersberndtson.com) or Nancy Lismer (Nancy.Lismer@odgersberndtson.com), or submit your resumé and related information in confidence online at www.odgersberndtson.com/en/careers/14919 .
