Job overview

The Governors are seeking to appoint a Principal to join Netheravon All Saints C of E Primary School in January 2019. The school is currently a stand-alone academy but we are working towards joining a Multi Academy Trust.

This is an exciting opportunity for an existing or aspiring Headteacher to build on the many established strengths of the school.

Moving Netheravon towards being a ‘great’ school, you will be able to demonstrate creativity in terms of curriculum design, and a thirst for securing the best possible teaching & learning.

You will enjoy the positive support of the governors, staff, and parents, in empowering our children to become independent, resilient, lifelong learners.

If you have a passion for growing excellent teaching and learning across the Primary and Early Years age range; if you are someone who will relish the opportunity to lead in all areas of education; if you are a leader committed to establishing a positive culture for pupils, staff and community by creating an irresistible school offer – then please read on.

About us:

Netheravon CE Primary School is in the village of Netheravon, just off the A303, on the edge of Salisbury Plain and is easily accessible from Salisbury, Devizes, Warminster, Marlborough, Andover and surrounding areas. Currently, there are new housing developments in the area as part of the Army rebasing, and the school may grow in the future. We are an incredibly friendly school, with 187 children on roll. The school converted to an academy on 1 April 2014.

Our curriculum is broad and is underpinned by our shared values, inclusion and pedagogy, including a focus on developing learning powers to promote lifelong learning. We are a committed team whose values are built on mutual trust and respect for all. The PTFA of Netheravon is active and the local governing body is supportive and appropriately challenging.

Our biggest asset is our children, who are well behaved, eager to learn and a real testament to the school and local community. We believe in enabling our children to shine and we encourage them to do so at all times.

We are proud of our status as a Church school, and work closely with the Diocesan Board of Education.

The school had a Good Ofsted rating in January 2017 and it is aspirational, focusing on the continuous professional development of teachers to enable them to teach innovatively and successfully at all levels.

We are looking for a candidate with proven leadership skills, and with the ability to maintain and develop teaching and learning excellence within the school. We have 52% military children so experience of mobility, and the challenges it brings, would be useful.  Expertise in data and literacy would also be key skills that the school would benefit from.

It would be a pleasure to show you around and to talk with you about the exciting potential of leading this school. Netheravon All Saints C of E Primary School has a really wonderful staff team and the children are a delight.

Visits to the school are welcomed and recommended so please contact our chair of governors on 07764 202909 for further details or to arrange a tour.

Commencement date: 1st January 2019.
Closing date for applications:  9am Monday 10th September 2018
Interviews will take place on: 25th and 26th September 2018

To apply, please visit www.netheravonallsaints.school for an application pack.

Netheravon All Saints School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All applicants will be subject to a full Disclosure and Barring Service check before appointment is confirmed.
