International Schools Partnership is seeking to appoint a Principal to lead Nibras International School from September 2018 or earlier onwards. The successful candidate will have a demonstrable track record of successful senior educational leadership, preferably with experience of US curriculum, school reviews and assessments, and ideally schools with an international intake with a preference in the Middle East. They will be a strategic leader and a committed team player who demonstrates a collegiate and collaborative approach to working with others. They will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain strong and positive relationships with all of the school’s stakeholders.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Bachelor’s degree and Qualified Teacher Status
  • Master’s degree in Education (desirable but not essential)
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Clear understanding of US style schools and standards
  • Understanding and experience of the UAE Framework for Inspection
  • Proven track record of school improvement
  • Minimum 5 years’ successful and relevant experience in a position of educational leadership
  • Minimum 5 years teaching experience as an outstanding teacher
  • Evidence of relevant Continuous Professional Development
  • Collaborative leadership style, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable to change, growth and development.
  • Ambitious, hard-working, motivated and a strong role model.

Nibras International School (NIS) is a mixed, private school in Dubai. It offers an American Curriculum, designed in consultation with the American University of Beirut (AUB), for students in Kindergarten through to Grade Twelve. The curriculum is aligned with the Colorado Academic Standards and is delivered in English.

The school, which was established in 2005 and has a current school roll of around 800, caters for students from more than 82 countries. Its focus is to foster the well-being of students and to provide for their academic, social, emotional, civic, and physical development through a stimulating and engaging learning environment based on collaboration. 

Raising the standard of teaching and learning is also one of NIS’s key goals and as part of this it seeks to with improve the capacity of Middle Leaders and continue the programme of professional development for all teachers.
