Macclesfield College is seeking an enthusiastic and efficient Lecturer in Teacher Education.

You will be joining a committed team of practitioners within the curriculum area of Access to Higher Education and Teacher Training. The team are committed and driven to ensure the best experiences are given to the learners through innovative teaching and learning in a well - resourced College.  

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering effective teaching, learning and assessment to learners within the Teacher Training programmes across all levels up to Level 5 (The Award, Certificate and Diploma in Education and Training).

An effective communicator, who can work well within a team, you will have excellent organisational skills and have the ability to work well under pressure. 

The successful candidate will need to hold a degree or equivalent appropriate vocational qualification, possess a Teaching qualification to Cert Ed/PGCE or equivalent and have a minimum of five years teaching experience. IQA qualified or equivalent is also desirable. 

Literacy and numeracy at Level 2 or equivalent and ITQ is also a requirement of the role, or a willingness to work towards attaining these qualifications in a timely manner.

Annual leave  

Academic staff are entitled to 40 days per annum (pro rata for part time staff) for the academic year 01 September to 31 August and this is in addition to the Bank and Public Holidays normally observed in England and Wales. 

Business Support staff are entitled to 30 days per annum (pro rata for part time staff) for the academic year 01 September to 31 August and this is in addition to the Bank and Public Holidays normally observed in England and Wales. 

College Management Team are entitled to 35 days per annum (pro rata for part time staff) for the academic year 01 September to 31 August and this is in addition to the Bank and Public Holidays normally observed in England and Wales.  

The College is closed for 2 weeks during the student Christmas break during which time all staff are granted additional leave to be taken at this time.

The College provides on its campus free secure parking to our staff and bike racks. We are located on local bus routes and are conveniently 20 minutes’ walk from Macclesfield train station.
