Colston’s is a thriving co-educational day school on the outskirts of Bristol, easily accessible from the motorway and with approximately 750 students aged from 3 to 18. The Upper School occupies a glorious thirty acre campus and has all of its facilities on-site. 

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a school environment and play an important role in the health and pastoral care of the pupils at Colston’s School.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced, qualified, medical practitioner to provide excellent medical care and pastoral support to pupils, staff and visitors at our Lower and Senior schools during term time. The School Matron is a key member of a multi-disciplinary team. A warm, approachable personality is essential for this role. The successful candidate will have a high degree of integrity and be able to cope calmly and efficiently with any eventualities. An RGN qualification is desirable although not essential to be considered for this position.

The hours for this role will be 8am until 5pm including an hour lunch/ breaks, unpaid from Monday to Friday during all of term time (normally 35 weeks). Availability to assist with providing Saturday cover would be advantageous. A competitive salary is offered based upon RGN Band 5 (£22,128-£28,746 per annum FTE) pro-rata, dependent on qualifications and experience. The actual salary range for working term time only, part-time across the year is £17,021-£22,112 per annum. Pro-rata paid holiday entitlement is 5 weeks each year including bank/public holidays. Other benefits include School lunch during term time and free parking on site, staff remission on School tuition fees in accordance with the staff remission policy and a defined contribution pension scheme.
