Queensbury Academy are looking for a full time Science teacher on a permanent contract. 

 

The post holder would be working in a tight knit team led by Allie Williams. Allie is an experienced middle leader with a strong record of success in teaching and leadership roles in outstanding schools. Teaching would be from Year 7 to Year 13 and would cover all ability ranges. The Science department is known for its innovative approach with teaching and learning at the heart of the day-to-day education of students. 

 

The post holder would be encouraged to take on a developmental role within the department such which would suit someone in the early years of their teaching career with ambitions of going further in curriculum leadership.  

 

Teachers of science have their own teaching rooms that are fully functional with all the utilities to deliver science education. Most rooms have been refurbished this year with state-of-the-art facilities put in place making them bright energetic places to teach and learn. There are three brilliant science technicians who work closely with the teaching team to support the delivery of practical’s each key stage. 

 

Queensbury Academy is a consistently oversubscribed, OFSTED rated ‘good’ comprehensive school situated at the foot of Dunstable Downs in South Bedfordshire. It is part of the successful Anthem Trust which offers incredible support for every professional that works within it. Since joining the Anthem Trust the school has seen a marked change in its fortunes and is now known for its calm classrooms, strong focus on behaviour and well-developed teaching and learning. There are weekly staff briefings lead by the head and whole school CPD meetings as the school works hard to develop itself on a journey to outstanding. The staff body is highly committed, and staff absence rates are incredibly low. Whilst our 2017 OFSTED report records a “GOOD” we are fully committed and on track to be securely ‘’GOOD’’ and ambitious and determined to strive for ‘’OUTSTANDING’’.  

 

The school site is well spaced out with plenty of parking on site. The town of Dunstable is well served with public transport links with easy access to the North and South M1 motorway via junctions 9 and 10.
