Tes is supporting the appointment of a Science Teacher to join a college based in Hounslow.
Through your knowledge and passion, you will have a real impact on the lives of the college's young people. Taking responsibility for their learning, you will motivate them, inspire them and help them develop the skills they need for an incredible future.
The college is a new post-16 provision for young people with autism and complex needs. The college will offer a broad curriculum of academic, vocational and life skills learning including BTECs, GCSEs, Functional Skills and ASDAN accreditations which will work towards Employability or Independence and Duke of Edinburgh qualifications.
The role
As a dynamic and motivated STEM/Science Teacher you already have a passion for making a difference in the lives of children and young people. In this role, you will have every opportunity to live up to this ambition, responding to the needs of individuals with autism, learning difficulties and complex needs, helping them flourish and thrive.
You will plan and deliver engaging learning on a daily basis, developing exciting and innovative methods that stimulate interest and excitement in the classroom. Working as a STEM/Science Teacher with the college is not your average teaching role.
Who the college are looking for
You will be a passionate tutor and a great communicator, as comfortable talking to young adults with autism, learning difficulties and complex needs as you are with contributing to the college’s vision and direction.
You will enjoy building these caring relationships as well as liaising with fellow professionals, whether they are colleagues in the same school or they work in the children’s previous educational establishments.
You will have excellent written English skills too, along with a passion for working in collaboration with other members of their multidisciplinary team, sharing information in both formal and informal situations.
