Having opened in our brand new multi-million pound building in September 2015 with record student numbers Health Futures UTC is pleased to offer an outstanding individual the opportunity to join us to support our Subject Leader in driving the quality of Teaching and Learning in the area.

You will be an outstanding teacher of Mathematics and will work with your colleagues to design and deliver the Mathematics curriculum and meet the needs and interests of our students, ensuring that they achieve the highest possible academic standards whilst supporting our clear ethos and focus. You will be supported in this by our state of the art facilities which ensure you can fully embrace the range learning technologies and techniques available in our fast developing world.

Working with a tight-knit group of committed staff, your professional opportunities will be second to none as we develop our provision together and ensure the best possible outcomes and experience for our students. This combined with our partnership with the University of Wolverhampton and other providers ensures that you will have every opportunity to develop your career and gain further qualifications.

Established with the backing of the University of Wolverhampton and in partnership with a wide range of health sector employer partners, including all West Midlands NHS Trusts, WM Ambulance Service and the Mid-counties Co-operative Pharmacy, Health Futures is responding to the identified skills gap that is preventing local young people taking up the varied and valuable career paths in this sector.

We are excited and proud to have been the first UTC in the UK with healthcare and health sciences as its specialism, offering learning and career opportunities like no other.

By combining academic study with real-life work projects, personal development activities, and career opportunities our young people will become well-rounded work-ready individuals. They will benefit from a combination of qualified national curriculum teaching and putting their learning into practice in exciting, work-focused projects that are delivered in partnership with employer professionals.

We’re able to deliver this ‘tomorrow’s education today’ concept through robust partnerships with major health, education and public sector organisations. This approach supports the development of academic, practical and life skills in our young people, equipping them to meet the demands from employers for good qualifications, transferable skills and a professional attitude to work – whatever career path they eventually choose.

We believe that the UTC can provide a set of opportunities and qualifications that will provide an excellent foundation for students to enter the health and care professions.
