About the role - As a dynamic and innovative member of our school community, you will:

  • Create a nurturing and ordered learning environment which is learner-centred, safe, supportive, co-operative and aligned with relevant curriculum, policies and practices

About you - To be successful in this role you will bring relevant qualifications and contemporary teaching experience as well as:

  • Strong literacy, numeracy and digital literacy practices plus a clear understanding of the Australian Curriculum

  • Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven organisational skills
  • Commitment to engage with colleagues, students, and parents/carers to achieve the best outcomes
  • Demonstrated competence against the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers across professional knowledge, practice and engagement.



At BCE our teachers are required to:

  • Hold a current Queensland College of Teachers registration; and
  • Be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.



About our school:About our school: Saint Mary's Catholic College is a Prep to Year 12 College offering families a co-educational pathway to life-long learning. The College has been proudly serving the families of the South Burnett region since 1990, following the amalgamation of the St Mary's Parish Primary and Secondary Schools. It has a current enrolment of approximately 350 students. The College has a master planned school campus environment along with a vision for education in a contemporary world.

Surrounded by picturesque countryside, Kingaroy is a wine-growing region, only 2½ hours drive north-west of Brisbane. As the central town of the South Burnett region, Kingaroy offers services, shopping facilities, recreational clubs and industries expected in much larger towns. Whats in it for you? Saint Marys Catholic College, Kingaroy is one of five (5) schools in the Brisbane Archdiocese in a rural location and attracts additional financial and employment benefits according to the Remote Area Incentive Scheme (RAIS). Through the Remote Area Incentive Scheme, teachers will embark upon an educational ministry of teaching in a rural school to make a positive impact in rural communities through committee and continuing service.



Do I have to be Catholic to teach?

All BCE teachers must have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education. If this role does not require you to teach Religious Education, you do not need to be Catholic.

Our teachers of Religious Education are required to be Catholic and attain Accreditation to teach Religion in a Catholic school. Not accredited to teach in a Catholic school yet? That’s okay, BCE will support you to achieve this through your professional development after you start with us.
