At The Holmewood School we ‘Think Differently’. We are a small, friendly independent school meeting the needs of children with high functioning autism and Asperger’s Syndrome, language & communication difficulties and SpLD. We are part of the Cavendish Education group.
We are looking for a dynamic, flexible and enthusiastic drama teacher or specialist to join our team of creative teachers to teach up to GCSE level including LAMDA and Bronze, Silver and Gold Arts Awards. You will be committed to providing the best opportunities for our group of learners and ensuring every child is supported to achieve their full potential.
You may be a qualified drama teacher who has experience in SEN or may come from a different drama background with experience of teaching and working with a range of young people.

We are located in North London on two sites. Our main site is conveniently situated directly opposite Woodside Park station on the Northern line. Our Sixth Form Centre is located in Finchley Central. We work closely with the other schools in our group, have extensive community links and believe in ‘thinking differently’ and being as creative as possible in our teaching.
A flexible approach to teaching, a willingness to get involved in all aspects of school life, and the ability to work under pressure with young people that can challenge us is essential to enable the best outcomes for our group of learners. You will have at least 2 years experience of working with learners with autism in any setting. Experience of working with young people with behaviour needs or mental health needs will also be highly beneficial.

About The Holmewood School
The Holmewood School is a growing independent day school for neurodivergent children and young people aged from 7 to 19 who have a primary diagnosis of Autism. Our young people are broadly similar to their mainstream peers in their academic ability but require support with communication and interaction, executive functioning, anxiety, functional skills and other needs related to their diagnosis. Many of our young people also have coaccurring diagnoses, such as ADHD and dyslexia.
We were awarded an Outstanding rating by Ofsted following their visit in May 2022 and we are proud to have Advanced Accreditation Status granted by the National Autistic Society.
